Victimised by thugs for the third time
I have always wanted to have a forum where victims of armed thugs may tell their story and just may be whoever is in charge may do something. I hope that your story will give us that forum.
I have been a victim of armed thugs for at least three times; one in 1998 while living in a three bedroom flat at Chichiri on 2nd floor of all places, another one was in 2003 at BCA hill, the latest one was on Sept 10th 2008 in area 10(a place surrounded by area 30 police, area 12 police and area 18 police).
Here are my stories in detail; at Chichiri flat the incident happened at 10:02 pm, armed thugs came with a big rock, Panga knifes, etc. The forced the front door open using a big rock and took away all my electronic appliances which I brought from Canada while on scholarship, and they also attacked me on the head with Panga knifes and had to go to the hospital for stitches. This issue was reported to the Chichiri police station, of course to-date no report, or any feedback.
The same happened at BCA hill but this time I was in the bedroom and called neighbours for help. No report, no feedback. All electronic appliances gone yet again.
The latest one was just as traumatising, thugs jumped over the fence, tied up my guard and broke bulglar bars on our dining room window and opened it, they entered the house sitting room and took all electronic appliances. As if that was not enough, they used a metal bar to open two doors in the corridor to get to our bedroom door. I only realised we had thugs in the house when they were trying to open this door. I could see Panga knifes being inserted in between the frame and door on the top end and bottom end, at the same time one thug was trying to open the door with a metal bar, this was 3:30am and it was dark. We shouted for help but no neighbours came (this is area 10), we called police who came after thugs had gone. It was terrible. To-date no report but police came for finger prints. This is the Malawi some of us experience. There is no security in Malawi; we now pay for guards as well as rapid response from G4S, too expensive.
